What is a three-statement model?

Three pages that describe the same business from three angles, wired together. The income statement is what you earned over a period. The balance sheet is what you own and owe on one day. The cash flow statement is where the money actually went.

Profit flows into equity on the balance sheet, and the cash at the bottom of the cash flow statement is the cash line at the top of the balance sheet. When all three agree, month after month, the plan holds together. When they do not, something in it is wrong. Lenders and investors ask for all three because a business can look profitable on paper and still run out of money.

Do I need to know accounting?

No. You answer questions about your business in plain fields. What you sell and for how much, who you hire and when, what you spend, what you buy, what you borrow, what you raise.

The accounting happens behind the pages. Receivables, payables, inventory, deferred revenue, depreciation, loss carryforwards and the balance sheet check are handled for you, and you never write a formula. It helps to know what the three pages mean, which is what the first section of the home page explains.

Is this financial advice?

No. Three Statement is planning software made by Pursuit Labs, LLC. We are not financial advisors, accountants or lawyers. Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice. The numbers come from your assumptions.

Nobody here reviews your plan or tells you what to do with it. We are not auditors and this is not an audit, a review or any other form of assurance. The output is only as good as what you put in, so check anything you intend to rely on with your own accountant.

Do you see my data?

Until you sign in, your plan never leaves your browser. When you sign in and save, the plan is stored in the account database on Cloudflare in the United States.

Signing in is by a six-digit code sent to your email address, so there is no password to lose. Payments are handled by Stripe and we never see card numbers. We do not connect to your bank and we do not ask for a login to your accounting system. The privacy page lists everything we keep and how to have it deleted.

Can I export?

Yes, on a paid plan. Excel gives you a workbook with every statement and a monthly sheet behind them, and the print pack sends all the pages to your printer or to a PDF in one job.

On the free plan you can still save the whole plan as a JSON file and open it again later on any machine, so nothing you build is trapped here.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from the billing page in your account. Your plan keeps working through the period you have already paid for, and there are no refunds for a partial period.

If you stop paying you keep every plan you have already built, and you can download any of them as a JSON file.

Who built it?

Hector K, a founder. This model was built for his own company first, and has been used on other companies since. Three Statement is that model rebuilt as software, so the work would not have to be done by hand again.

It is run by Pursuit Labs, LLC, a small Florida company he owns. Write to us on the contact page, or at hello@threestatement.com.
